Dr Andrew Cornish, MB BS (London 1977), MRCGP, FPA Cert
Our Senior Partner and venerable elder statesman! Andrew trained at the Middlesex Hospital, London, and then after a year doing Casualty and Orthopaedics did his GP training in Bury St Edmunds. He joined the practice in 1982.
Special Interest Areas: Diabetes, minor surgery, family planning (including sessional work for the local Family Planning Clinic).
Dr Paul Stephenson, MA (Oxon 1984), BM BCh (Oxford 1987), DRCOG, DGM, FRCGP
The next oldest! Paul trained at Oxford, obtained an additional degree in Physiology, did his General Practice training in Windsor, and joined the practice in 1991.
Special Interest Areas: Respiratory disease, (Deputy Editor, Primary Care Respiratory Journal; Former lead GP, Eastern Region Confidential Enquiry into Asthma Deaths), research and drug trials, medicine for the elderly.
Dr Nicola Mann, MSc (London 2003), MB BS (London 1986), DRCOG, MRCGP
Has the same birthday as Dr Stephenson but is much (much!) younger... Nicola trained at the Royal London Hospital Medical School and then did her GP training in Plymouth and Bury St Edmunds. She became a partner in the practice in 1993.
Special Interest Areas: Psychiatry. Recently awarded an MSc in Mental Health Studies at Guy’s & St Thomas’s Hospital, King’s College Hospital and Maudsley Hospital.
Dr Carolyn Platt, MB ChB (Glasgow 1986), DCH, DipClinDerm
As young as Dr Mann! Carolyn trained at Glasgow University, did her General Practice training in the Monklands District in Scotland, and then worked in Ayrshire before moving to the Haverhill area in 1992. She joined the amalgamated Christmas Maltings and Clements practice in April 2003.
Special Interest Areas: Cardiology, dermatology and paediatrics.
Dr Fiona Andrews, MB BS (London 1988), DCH, MRCGP
Even younger! Fiona trained at St Thomas’s Hospital, London and did her GP training in Kingston. After seven years doing general practice in London and Suffolk she joined the practice in 2002 – initially as a salaried doctor, and then as a partner.
Special Interest Areas: Teenage health, paediatrics, emergency medicine, gynaecology and family planning.
Dr Elizabeth Quarterman, BSc, MB BS (London 1986)
Youthful and vigorous too! Elizabeth qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1989, gained an additional degree in Anatomy, and joined the practice in 2003.
Special Interest Areas: Dermatology and gynaecology.
Dr Andrew Bowen, LRCP, LRCS, LMSSA (London 1998)
Positively youthful! Andy trained at St George’s Hospital Medical School in London, did his general practice training in Bury St Edmunds, and joined the practice in November 2004.
Special Interest Areas: Men's health, minor surgery, skin problems, palliative care and general medicine.
Dr Rachel Casey, MA (Cantab 1992), MB BChir (Cambridge 1995), MRCPCH, MRCGP
Exceptionally youthful as well! Rachel trained at Cambridge, gained an additional degree, and then did postgraduate training in Paediatrics on the Guys/Thomas’s/Chatham paediatric rotation followed by paediatric registrar posts in Lewisham, Greenwich, Sidcup and Cambridge. She did her general practice training in Bury St Edmunds and then joined the practice in 2005.
Special Interest Areas: Paediatrics.
Dr Roz Tandy, MB BS (London 1999), DCH, DRCOG, DFFP, MRCGP
Very youthful indeed! Roz trained at The Royal London Hospital Medical School, spent a year working as a junior doctor in New South Wales, Australia, and then moved to Cambridge, completing her GP training in Bury St Edmunds. She joined the practice in 2006.
Special Interest Areas: Paediatrics and young adult medicine.
Dr Nina Holden, BSc, MB BS (London 1997), DRCOG, DFFP
Exceptionally youthful! Nina trained at Guy’s and Thomas’s Hospitals in London, gained an additional degree in Radiological Sciences, and did her GP training in Lewisham. She has had various locum and salaried posts locally, and joined the practice in April 2009.
Special Interest Areas: Women's health and sexual health.
Dr Vandana Surendran, MB BS (Calicut 2002), DCH, DRCOG, MRCGP, DFSRH
Startlingly youthful! Vandy trained at Calicut Medical College in India and then moved to Great Yarmouth for her GP training. She was doing locums in the Cambridge and Suffolk area for about a year before joining the practice in 2009.
