Order Repeat Prescriptions

Patients on regular medication should order their repeat medication allowing at least 48 hours notice.

You can order your repeat medication by:

• Posting or bringing your request to the any of our three surgeries
• Leaving your request at Kedington Surgery or Thurlow Post Office
• Emailing us using the 'Ask a Question' button below
• Using EMIS Access on www.patient.co.uk

Ordering of repeat medication is managed by our practice clinical system supplier EMIS on www.patient.co.uk.

If you would like to register to use this facility please complete the Online Services Form.

We can send your prescription to a pharmacy of your choice or you can pick it up at the surgery of your choice.

Dispensary

We are a part-dispensing practice dispensing to patients living in the surrounding villages more than 1 mile radius from a chemist.

Dispensary opening times at Christmas Maltings Surgery are Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 6:30pm. You can also collect your medication on Saturday mornings from 9am to midday.

We deliver medication to our branch surgery in Kedington which is open Monday to Friday from 1:30pm to 2:30pm. We also deliver medication to Thurlow Post Office for collection by patients.

Travel Vaccinations

Our practice nurses can offer a wide range of travel advice and administer vaccines.

Christmas Maltings Surgery is a certified Yellow Fever centre.

Please book an appointment with a treatment room nurse and ask for an appointment for a travel vaccination. You will be asked which countries you will be visiting.

Wound Dressings

Ear Syringing

For ear washout and syringing, please book an appointment with the treatment room nurse.

Blood Tests

All test results are seen and actioned by a doctor. If the doctor needs you to repeat the blood test or see you in the surgery, you will receive a telephone call or letter from us. If your blood test is normal you will not hear from us. However, if you have given us permission to text you to let you know your result is normal we will do so.

Contraception

We offer the full range of contraceptive services including oral contraceptive pills, injectable contraception, IUD fitting and implant fitting. We offer referral for male and female sterilization. We are able to fit and refit caps and diaphragms and offer advice on postnatal and perimenopausal contraception. We have two specially trained doctors working in this field, including one partner who is qualified to train other doctors in general family planning, IUD fitting and implant fitting.

We can offer initial assessment and treatment advice for a range of psychosexual issues for both male and female patients. We provide a sexual health service to our patients which includes both testing and treatment for sexually acquired infections. Please consult your doctor with any concerns you may have in this area, we offer friendly and informal advice and ensure your complete confidentiality at all times.
